The scanner is one of the components in digital media which allows for the actual interaction of physical agents. With these devices the speed of communicative exchange of information and images becomes increasingly faster and faster. But in order to produce a photographic picture with the scanner, one has to do the opposite of what it was designed for: to slow down. One has to hold perfectly still.
